Peruvian Shapido Conido Style Polychrome Red Clay Pottery Vessel

Description

Beautiful antique handmade Shipido polychrome pottery bowl from the Amazonian rainforest of Peru. This bowl features the traditional black "Kene" pattern on the exterior. The kene pattern is a traditional tribal design for Peru pottery. Clay is made from local clay and bark using old techniques and methods. This vessel is shown in pictures with each and every angle noted, dark wash interior and normal dye fading. There is an old fix to a chip on the lid, most likely from previous owner lifting it from the lip. All damage noted in pictures. Very unique Peruvian pottery.
Will arrive securely packed in new materials.
