Antique Bristol Counter manufactured by the C.J. Root Company of Bristol, Connecticut. These cast iron mechanical counters were patented around 1891 and were used in industrial settings to manually count items such as printing press output, production pieces, or conveyor line products.The counter advances the numbered wheels by operating the side lever. An excellent collectible for enthusiasts of industrial antiques, printing history, early mechanical devices, or cast iron tools.Condition:Shows age-related wear, oxidation, scratches, and a well-developed patina consistent with its age.
