This vintage machinist tool lot includes an antique L.S. Starrett Speed Indicator Tachometer housed in its original black storage case, along with an assortment of hand reamers and taps.The Starrett mechanical tachometer was designed to measure rotational speed (RPM) and is marked The L.S. Starrett Co., Athol, Mass., U.S.A. Examples of this style often reference patents from the late 1890s and early 1900s, making them desirable to collectors of vintage precision tools.Also included is a mixed assortment of machinist cutting tools consisting of hand reamers, adjustable (expansion) reamers, and thread-cutting taps. These tools were used for precision hole finishing and internal thread cutting in machine shop applications.Condition:All items show wear, oxidation, staining, and signs of age and prior use. The tachometer has not been tested for accuracy or operation. The cutting edges of the reamers and taps have not been inspected for sharpness or completeness.
