Very rare relic from a crashed V-1 rocket or 'buzz bomb', a 17 x 7 in. tail elevator from one of the rockets which remains in very good condition. The riveted, wedge-shaped elevator has several ribs within as denoted by riveting running perpendicularly. It is painted in two different shades of green on the upper and lower sides. Appears to have been dug from a wreck site, very good. The V-1 was a pulse-jet-powered cruise missile developed and used by Nazi Germany. It was launched from ramps or aircraft, and carried a high-explosive warhead. It was primarily used to attack London and Antwerp in Belgium and terrorized the population, though it was only about 25% accurate. .
