Antique clockwork-style furnace damper control or industrial timing mechanism dating to the late 19th or early 20th century. Features exposed brass gears, a large mainspring, electrical contact assemblies, and a heavy steel base. Similar mechanisms were used to automatically regulate coal furnace dampers or operate early fire alarm and signaling systems. Untested and sold as found with age-related wear.
