Magnificent Stevens & Williams Green/Clear Engraved Cut Glass Pitcher with Mauser Sterling Silver

Offered is an extraordinary and unquestionably unique pitcher by the renowned English glassmaker Stevens & Williams, executed in green-to-clear casing and engraving of the highest caliber.One side of the pitcher is exquisitely engraved with a pair of finely detailed and likely male/female parrots perched among flowering branches. Beneath the birds rests a single enclosed poppy bloom, while the reverse of the pitcher features an oversized poppy bud that gracefully climbs up that side, creating a dramatic and beautifully balanced composition. Every feather, leaf, stem, and blossom has been engraved with exceptional precision, giving the entire scene remarkable depth and realism. The engraving ranks among the finest examples of Stevens & Williams artistry, with masterful attention to naturalistic detail throughout.Complementing the glass is an elegant Mauser Silver Co. NY mounted rim and pouring spout. The spout is decorated with finely chased wheat sheaves framing the engraved cipher "EHM," adding historical character of the original owners of this special piece.
