Details:
Harvard and Yale original football game program issued for the November 22, 1930 meeting of the longtime collegiate rivals. The striking Art Deco cover features stylized player and spectator imagery rendered in red, blue, black, and cream tones, with “Harvard” and “Yale” displayed prominently along the borders. The cover is signed in the plate by artist Foster and remains one of the more visually distinctive designs associated with the historic rivalry.
Program exhibits light age wear, including creasing, surface wear, and handling marks to the covers, but remains complete and displays well overall.
The Harvard–Yale football rivalry, first contested in 1875, is among the oldest and most celebrated traditions in American college athletics. By 1930, “The Game” had become one of the premier events on the collegiate football calendar, drawing national attention and large crowds while helping to define the early history of intercollegiate football in the United States.
