Lowell Nesbitt is depicted in this original double weight silver gelatin photograph taken in 1982 by photographer Lenore Seroka, measuring 8 x 10 inches. The image captures the artist standing behind a worktable filled with paintbrushes inside his studio, surrounded by several of his monumental floral paintings. Offering an intimate glimpse into his creative environment, the photograph documents Nesbitt at work during one of the most productive periods of his career.
The reverse bears Seroka’s photographer’s credit stamp, a 1982 copyright stamp, and her original ink signature, confirming the print as an original period photograph. A small caption identifying the subject as “Lowell Nesbitt” remains affixed beneath the image on the front.

Lowell Nesbitt (1933-1993) was an American realist painter celebrated for his highly detailed depictions of flowers, still lifes, landscapes, and architectural subjects. After studying at Temple University’s Tyler School of Art and the Royal College of Art in London, he rose to prominence during the 1960s and 1970s with his monumental floral paintings, which became his signature works. His art was exhibited extensively throughout the United States and internationally and is represented in numerous museum, corporate, and private collections. In addition to his artistic achievements, Nesbitt was an active supporter of environmental conservation and the arts, leaving a lasting legacy as one of America’s most accomplished contemporary realist painters.
