The STS-57 commemorative cover autographed by the mission’s complete six-member crew: Ronald J. Grabe, Brian Duffy, G. David Low, Nancy J. Currie-Gregg (signed Nancy Sherlock), Peter J. K. Wisoff, and Janice E. Voss. Postmarked “Enterprise Station – Shore Leave 14,” July 10, 1992, the cover bears all six astronauts’ signatures and commemorates one of the Space Shuttle program’s landmark scientific missions. Launched aboard Space Shuttle Endeavour on June 21, 1993, STS-57 marked the inaugural flight of the SPACEHAB laboratory module, significantly expanding the Shuttle’s capability for conducting research in orbit. The mission also retrieved the European Retrievable Carrier (EURECA) satellite and featured a spacewalk by Peter Wisoff and G. David Low to evaluate tools and techniques for future assembly and servicing missions.

Ronald J. Grabe (b. 1945) flew four Space Shuttle missions, logging more than 1,000 hours in space. A former U.S. Air Force test pilot, he served as commander of STS-57.

Brian Duffy (b. 1953) is a veteran of four Shuttle missions, including two as commander. A former Air Force pilot, he later held senior leadership positions at NASA’s Johnson Space Center.

G. David Low (1956–2008) flew three Space Shuttle missions and played a major role in developing the International Space Station. An accomplished engineer, he later became a senior executive in the aerospace industry.

Nancy J. Currie-Gregg (b. 1958), who signed here under her maiden name Nancy Sherlock, flew four Space Shuttle missions and accumulated over 1,000 hours in space. She later served in key leadership roles supporting the International Space Station program.

Peter J. K. Wisoff (b. 1958) flew four Shuttle missions and performed four spacewalks totaling more than 19 hours. He later became NASA’s Chief of the Astronaut Office.

Janice E. Voss (1956–2012) flew five Space Shuttle missions and logged over 49 days in space. An accomplished engineer and scientist, she later directed NASA’s Kepler science program, which revolutionized the search for planets beyond our solar system.
