The cover is completed in manuscript with the flight details, including NASA Flight No. 910, aircraft T-38, serial no. N910NA, January 22, 1991 flight date, flight duration of 1.5 hours, pilot Precourt, and the remark, “Precision Approaches at Bergstrom AFB.” Precourt has signed in black ink.

Charles J. Precourt (born 1955) is a retired U.S. Air Force officer, test pilot, and NASA astronaut. Selected by NASA in 1990, he flew five Space Shuttle missions: STS-55 in 1993, STS-71 in 1995, STS-84 in 1997, STS-91 in 1998, and STS-103 in 1999. He served as pilot on his first two missions and commander on his final three, including multiple dockings with the Russian Mir space station and the servicing mission to the Hubble Space Telescope. Following his astronaut career, Precourt held leadership positions within NASA’s Flight Crew Operations Directorate and later in the aerospace industry.
