The cover is completed in manuscript with the flight details, including the August 10, 1992 flight date, aircraft A-10, aircraft no. 603, flight duration of 6.0 hours, pilot LTC Lichtenberg, and remarks reading “Longs 6 all.” Lichtenberg has signed in black ink.

Byron Kurt Lichtenberg (born 1948) is an American biomedical engineer and former NASA payload specialist who flew aboard STS-9 in 1983, the inaugural flight of Spacelab, and STS-45 in 1992, the first mission of the ATLAS-1 atmospheric laboratory. During his two Shuttle missions, Lichtenberg conducted a wide range of life sciences, materials science, and atmospheric research experiments. Prior to his spaceflight career, he served as a U.S. Air Force flight surgeon and later held leadership roles in biomedical research and the aerospace industry.
