Eugene F. Kranz autographed Apollo 11 20th Anniversary First Day Cover commemorating the twentieth anniversary of the first manned Moon landing. Postmarked Moon Port Station, Titusville, Florida, July 20, 1989, the cover features an illustrated cachet depicting a lunar astronaut and has been signed by Kranz in black ink.

Eugene F. Kranz (b. 1933) is a retired NASA flight director who directed numerous Mercury, Gemini, and Apollo missions. He served as lead flight director during the Apollo 11 lunar landing and was the flight director responsible for the successful recovery of the Apollo 13 mission following its in-flight explosion. Kranz later became Deputy Director of Flight Operations and is widely recognized for his leadership in NASA’s Mission Control during the formative years of the American space program.
