The cover features the commemorative Apollo-Soyuz postage stamps issued to mark the historic joint mission between the United States and the Soviet Union and is boldly signed by legendary NASA Flight Director Eugene F. Kranz.

The cover commemorates the Apollo-Soyuz Test Project (ASTP), the landmark international mission that saw an American Apollo spacecraft dock in orbit with a Soviet Soyuz spacecraft in July 1975. The mission represented the first cooperative human spaceflight venture between the two Cold War rivals and is widely regarded as a significant milestone in both space exploration and international relations.
