Jim Irwin autographed First Day Cover honoring the Skylab program, postmarked Houston, Texas, May 14, 1974, the first day of issue for the U.S. Skylab commemorative stamp. Irwin has signed the cover prominently in black ink.

James B. “Jim” Irwin (1930-1991) served as Lunar Module Pilot of Apollo 15 and became the eighth person to walk on the Moon in July 1971. Alongside Commander David Scott, he explored the Hadley-Apennine region and helped conduct one of the most scientifically productive lunar missions of the Apollo program, including the first use of the Lunar Roving Vehicle. Following his retirement from NASA, Irwin founded the evangelical organization High Flight Foundation and devoted much of his life to Christian ministry and public speaking.
