Frederick J. Olivi autographed Japanese Government-issued 50 Centavos occupation currency note. Printed for circulation in the Japanese-occupied Philippines during World War II, the note has been signed by Olivi in blue ink across the upper portion of the face. The reverse displays the ornate engraved design characteristic of the series.

Frederick J. Olivi (1921-2004) served as co-pilot of the Boeing B-29 Enola Gay during the atomic bombing mission over Hiroshima on August 6, 1945. A member of the 393rd Bombardment Squadron, 509th Composite Group, Olivi flew alongside aircraft commander Colonel Paul W. Tibbets Jr. on the mission that delivered the first atomic bomb used in warfare. He later continued his career in the U.S. Air Force, retiring with the rank of major general after more than three decades of military service.
