Thomas W. Ferebee autographed Japanese Government-issued 10 Centavos occupation currency note. Printed for circulation in the Japanese-occupied Philippines during World War II, the note has been signed by Ferebee in blue ink across the lower portion of the face. The reverse displays the ornate engraved design characteristic of the series.

Thomas W. Ferebee (1918-2000) served as the bombardier aboard the Boeing B-29 Enola Gay during the atomic bombing mission over Hiroshima on August 6, 1945. A member of the 393rd Bombardment Squadron, 509th Composite Group, Ferebee was responsible for releasing the “Little Boy” atomic bomb over its target. Earlier in the war, he flew numerous combat missions in Europe before joining the 509th Composite Group for the atomic missions against Japan. He retired from the U.S. Air Force with the rank of colonel.
