Wyatt E. Duzenbury (1913-1992) served as a technical sergeant in the 393rd Bombardment Squadron, 509th Composite Group. He was the flight engineer aboard the B-29 Enola Gay during the Hiroshima mission of August 6, 1945, becoming part of the crew that carried out the first wartime use of an atomic bomb. For his actions during the historic mission, Duzenbury was awarded the Silver Star for gallantry in action.
