Charles F. McKnight and James N. Price Jr. autographed commemorative cover honoring the 50th anniversary of the 509th Composite Group. McKnight signed in blue ink and added “O/C Top Secret,” referencing his regular assignment to the B-29 Top Secret. Price signed in black ink and added “Some Punkins.”

Charles F. McKnight served as a captain in the 393rd Bombardment Squadron and was regularly assigned to the B-29 Top Secret. During the Hiroshima mission, he participated as airplane commander of Big Stink, the backup strike plane stationed at Iwo Jima. During the Nagasaki mission, McKnight flew as airplane commander of Laggin’ Dragon, the weather reconnaissance aircraft.

James N. Price Jr. served as a captain in the 393rd Bombardment Squadron and was regularly assigned as aircraft commander of the B-29 Some Punkins.
