Collection of two space exploration publications consisting of an autographed hometown newspaper celebrating John Glenn's historic orbital flight and a commemorative Apollo 11 moon landing supplement. Included is The Sun (Springfield, Ohio), February 21, 1962, with the front page headline, "Courageous Col. John Glenn Rockets Around World Three Times; Kennedy to Deliver Nation's Thanks Friday," boldly inscribed across the masthead, "To Virginia - with best regards - John Glenn," dated November 14, 2002. The signature has been authenticated by JSA and is accompanied by its matching certification card and certification sticker (JSA DD72206).
Also included is the July 20, 1969 special supplement to The Philadelphia Inquirer titled "MAN on the MOON," issued to commemorate the Apollo 11 lunar landing and illustrated with a full-color cover depicting the Lunar Module and an astronaut on the Moon's surface.
Overall very good condition. The John Glenn newspaper displays expected age toning, edge wear, and horizontal and vertical fold lines from original publication.
