David Scott and Fred Haise autographed commemorative cover honoring the September 17, 1976 rollout ceremony of Space Shuttle Enterprise (OV-101) at Rockwell International in Palmdale, California. The cover commemorates the public unveiling of the first Space Shuttle orbiter and features illustrated portraits of the ALT approach and landing test crew. Fred Haise has signed twice, with the larger, heavier signature being an autopen example and his authentic hand-signed signature appearing directly below in thinner black felt-tip ink. David Scott has signed in black felt-tip ink at the lower right.

David Scott (1932- ) commanded Apollo 15, becoming the seventh person to walk on the Moon, and previously flew on Gemini 8 with Neil Armstrong and Apollo 9, the first crewed flight of the Lunar Module in Earth orbit. Following his NASA career, Scott remained active in aerospace consulting, historical research, and space exploration advocacy.

Fred Haise (1933- ) served as Lunar Module Pilot on Apollo 13, where he and crewmates Jim Lovell and Jack Swigert safely returned to Earth following the spacecraft’s in-flight oxygen tank explosion. He later commanded the Space Shuttle Enterprise during the Approach and Landing Test program, helping validate the shuttle’s atmospheric flight characteristics prior to orbital missions.
