Charles Albury autographed Japanese Government-issued 10 Rupees occupation currency note. Printed for circulation in Japanese-occupied Burma during World War II, the note has been signed and inscribed by Albury in blue ink along the left side of the face. The reverse displays the ornate engraved design characteristic of the series.

Charles W. Albury served as a pilot with the 509th Composite Group during World War II. Assigned to the specially organized U.S. Army Air Forces unit responsible for the atomic bombing missions against Japan, Albury flew Boeing B-29 Superfortresses from Tinian in the Mariana Islands during the final months of the Pacific War. Following the war, he remained active in preserving the history and legacy of the 509th Composite Group through veterans’ reunions and commemorative events.
