Complete illustrated newspaper featuring a front-page engraving titled “The Last Meeting Between General Scott and the Cabinet,” illustrating the retirement of General Winfield Scott from command of the United States Army. The issue also includes the article “The Retirement of General Scott,” discussing his departure from active service during the opening year of the Civil War.
Good to very good condition. Light overall toning with scattered edge wear, small chips, and short tears along the margins, consistent with age and handling.
