Deed document from Elk Co., PA dated February 14, 1896.
a) July 1, 1894- Henry H. Houston conveys a large tract of land to Charles W. Henry for fee, but reserves all coal, iron, oil, gas, and other mineral rights and preserves all drilling, boring, mining, and operating rights to his heirs.
b) July 30, 1894- Henry H. Houston and wife convey all oil and gas lying in the premises to the United Natural Gas Company.
c) Charles W. Henry grants to The Johnsonburg Railroad Company rights to a line through the Straight Creek Branch.
d) February 14, 1896. Charles W. Henry requests the Houston heirs and executors to release drilling, boring, mining, and operating rights to remove substances from the property by the United Natural Gas Company, to which they agreed.
The Johnsonburg RR Company, incorporated 1887, ran from Johnsonburg to Clermont, PA (19.62 mi.) and is now operated by the Pennsylvania Railroad.
The document measures approximately 8.5 x 14". Overall in excellent condition.
