The Lincoln Memorial is pictured in this original 7.5 x 5.5 inch press photograph depicting a lineup of early U.S. Army armored cars assembled in front of the monument in Washington, D.C. The image captures six military vehicles parked in formation, with uniformed soldiers visible aboard several of the armored cars, creating a striking juxtaposition of classical architecture and emerging mechanized warfare.

The reverse retains the original press caption and Henry Miller News Picture Service, Inc. markings. The attached caption reads in part: “A few of the new armored cars obtained by the army for use of the cavalry drawn up before the Lincoln Memorial in Washington. The heavier trucks in the center are La Salle’s and the lighter trucks on the ends are Pontiacs.” Additional period news service stamps appear on the reverse, confirming the photograph’s contemporary press use.
