Measuring approximately 17 x 14 inches, the finely engraved certificate features an ornate title, a central portrait of Martha Washington, and the embossed seal of the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution. The certificate records Mrs. Gray's admission through the Campbell Chapter and identifies her Revolutionary War lineage through William Edmonson and Matt Martin, who are credited with rendering material aid to the cause of American independence as a major and soldier, respectively.
