William Taft autographed canceled check dated January 27 , 1921. A partly-printed check completed in another hand drawn on The Second National Bank of New Haven. The check is #6003 and paying $20.16 to the New York, New Haven & Hartford Rail Road Co. Boldly signed by Taft, his name printed at left side. A scarce format for Taft signatures.

The check measures approximately 8.25 x 3".

Overall in near fine condition showing light age and wear.

William Howard Taft (September 15, 1857 – March 8, 1930) was an American politician and lawyer who was the 27th president of the United States (1909–1913) and the tenth chief justice of the United States (1921–1930), the only person to have held both offices.
