Two cases for cigarettes or calling cards, constructed from silver plated white metal with gilt-washed interiors. The first case is rectangular in form, featuring an exterior decorated with engine-turned linear and wavy patterns. It bears a cartouche inscribed with the stylized letters R.L.A. and a secondary rectangular cartouche with an engraved floral and scrollwork design. The interior is finished with a perlage pattern and contains a central hinged retainer bar. The second case has a cambered, rounded shape with the initials A.W. engraved on the front. Its interior is engraved with a four-line German inscription: Zur Erinnerung / an Gro?mutters / 70. Geburtstag / 12.3.21, commemorating a grandmother's 70th birthday on March 12, 1921. Neither case displays visible purity hallmarks or maker's marks.
