From the artist's estate. Sol Korby (1924-2025) was a prominent illustrator born and raised in New York who began illustrating as a child and continued doing so while serving in the army during World War II. After returning from the war, Sol studied illustration at the Art Student's League and worked in advertising and, thereafter, produced the covers for many books by publishers including Dell, Ace, Fawcett, and Avon. Later in life, Sol switched to painting fine art and submitted his works to shows, often winning awards, at Salmagundi, the American Artists' Professional League, the Pastel Society of America, and others.
