Manufactured by Colt between 1875 and 1912. Developed and patented by Colt employee, F. Alexander Thuer. This Deringer had a barrel that pivoted to the right on a vertical axis for loading and unloading. Instead of using a manually operated latch to open, this design uses a very positive, spring-loaded catch and detent that did not require anything but a firm twist of the barrel. This spring-loaded catch also acted as an automatic ejector, which was very handy for a single shot self-defense pistol. Features a 2-1/2" blued barrel with a silver half-moon front sight. Script "COLT" lettering on the top. Nickel plated frame with "41 CAL" stamped on the left side. Blued hammer and spur trigger. Fitted with smooth walnut grips. CALIBER/GA: .41 RF. S/N: 19369.
