This rifle was made by Springfield Armory in 1886 and is chambered in .45-70. It features a 32 1/2" barrel fitted with a blade style front sight and Buffington rear sight with "VP" Eagle and "P" proof marks at the rear of the barrel. The walnut stock houses the trumpet style ramrod and is fitted with a steel butt plate. The breach door is marked with "US Model 1873" and lockplate has "US Springfield" with Eagle Crest.
