This antique Model 71 rifle was made at the Bavarian Amberg Arsenal and is chambered in 11mm Mauser. It features an inverted V front sight and a flip up adjustable rear sight. The wood stock houses the cleaning rod and is held to the barrel with 3 barrel band with the front band fitted with a side mounted bayonet lug. The rifle has sling swivels on the middle barrel band and the trigger guard. The rifle has matching serial numbers on the receiver, bolt and parts, bands, barrel and visible screws. The barrel and receiver have many proof markings, a crown "Amberg", and "10,95" import mark. the left of the receiver reads "IG Mod. 71". the butt plate looks to have faint unit markings on the top. FAIR - Mechanics are good. Bore has pitting with visible rifling. Most metal has pitting and finish loss.
