Yoruba figure carved for the devotion of Eshu, the female stands wearing the headdress, having large hollowed ears, long scarification lines cover the sides of the face, torso of thick proportion, and standing on domed feet. Areas of black layered deposits, on red-brown patina. Custom base. Eshu, a trickster deity, or orisha, in traditional Yoruba religion. As orisha of the crossroads, Eshu signifies possibilities and opportunities. 10" H (25.4 cm H).
