Here is an absolutely stunning piece made by William Guerin ("W G & CO.") for Limoges in the late 1890's-early 1900's. The piece is made from porcelain with gold painted details and two hand-painted scenes on each side. On one side, is a floral scene with roses and leaves. The other side has a beautiful nature, country scene with birch trees, a small cottage and rustic path. You can have two pieces in one and change the look just by rotating it! At the time these were made they were used as vases or as cachepots for letters and correspondence. The body of the piece sits on 4 beautiful, gold legs and has gold ring details on each side. Simply elegant.
