This antique Voltamp stationary electric motor features a heavy cast iron body mounted on its original wooden base. Manufactured by the Voltamp Electrical Manufacturing Company of Baltimore, Maryland, these early electric motors date to the early 1900s and were designed for educational demonstrations, hobby use, and small experimental applications.Designed to operate on low-voltage DC power (approximately 2–10 volts), Voltamp motors are highly sought after by collectors of early electrical technology, scientific instruments, and antique toy and hobby equipment.
