Description
With pewter hinged lids. Both have heavy crazing yet quite unique and beautiful. The larger stein depicts a fisherman with bag and net and measures approximately 10"T to top of Finial - it appears to be 1.5L with no maker's mark present - the pewter lid has one visible, very worn pewter touch mark. this stein is possibly from the late 18th or early 19th century. The smaller stein depicts an Asian figure with birds and dragonflies. The pewter lid contains two distinct pewter touch (maker's) marks - maker unknown. This wonderful, little .5L stein has the typical crazing of Faience yet is in overall good condition considering it is potentially from the late17th to early 18th century - no visible cracks or chips. The bottom of the stein is hand-etched with the initials K E - usually these were marked with the initials of the owner. 7.25" to top of finial. Please use photos to judge condition and bid accordingly.
