Desirable autograph letter written and signed in blue ballpoint pen by artist Pablo Picasso on a white grid-lined 6.75" x 9" sheet. Dated October 1, 1957, the letter is written from his celebrated residence "La California" (Villa La Californie) in Cannes, France, and addressed to his trusted secretary Max Pellequer. Picasso encloses "another sheet," instructs Pellequer to review it and have it sent "as soon as possible," notes that he will write more fully the following day, and sends his regards to Jacqueline Roque, whom he would later marry. Signed simply, "Picasso." In very good condition to fine, with some signs of scattered wear, including small tears along the top edge where the sheet was removed from a notebook. Written from Villa La Californie, Picasso's renowned home and studio, during the creation of his monumental Las Meninas series (1957)—the only complete series of his paintings to remain together—this letter originates from one of the artist's most celebrated and prolific creative periods.
