Nice wooden 15.5" x 9.5" framed display of authentic owned and used 2" x 2" x 2" golf ball by 35th President of the United States John F. Kennedy. Ball is framed with plaque labeled "John F. Kennedy Golf Ball Circa 1942" and image of the original complete set of golf balls and carry tote. In fine condition. President Kennedy used this ball while playing during his sixth month assignment stationed in Charleston, South Carolina. This piece was obtained by Lt. Elijah N. Jones, Kennedy's direct report, and the man instrumental in securing his request to be transferred to an active combat zone. Kennedy's quick thinking and courageous actions during the sinking of PT-109 gave him the title as war hero and helped secure his place in the political arena. A sports-related artifact of America's most cherished President, sourced directly from the location that earned him one of his first major acts of heroism.
