Impressive and sizeable black-and-white 17" x 14" print by Yousuf Karsh, taken from a rediscovered duplicate negative of Alexander Hesler's original 1860 campaign portrait of 16th President of the United States, Abraham Lincoln. In very good condition, with some signs of scattered wear, including some slight warping of the paper. The original photograph of an uncommon beardless Lincoln was taken by Chicago photographer Alexander Hesler on June 3rd, 1860, and the negatives of the original photo, thought to have been destroyed, were rediscovered by historian and Lincoln scholar King V. Hostick in 1952.
