Set of (3) cuts cumulatively signed by all four original members of The Who, including the rare Keith Moon. White 4" x 5" cut signed in red and black ballpoint pens by the Who band members John Entwistle, who signed “Johnny Allison,” a name he would use along with “John Brown,” and Keith Moon, who inscribed “To Jamie” before his signature. Above the signatures in pen is the printed text “High Numbers,” the band's early name, and the date “9/8/64.” In very good condition, with some signs of scattered wear, including some slight staining. Encapsulated and authenticated by Beckett (#00018855365).
White 4" x 6" cut signed in black ballpoint pen by the Who band member Pete Townshend, who inscribed “All my best” before his signature. Cut is from a perforated notebook page mounted to a larger light blue paper. In very good condition, with some signs of scattered wear, including some slight ink smudging. Encapsulated and authenticated by Beckett (#00018455403).
White 3" x 3.5" cut signed in black ballpoint pen by the Who band member Roger Daltrey. Above the signature in pen is the printed text “Roger Daltrey of the Who” and below the signature the date “5/6/65.” In very good condition, with some signs of scattered wear, including some very minor ink smudging and slight warping of the paper. Encapsulated and authenticated by Beckett (#00018455401).
An outstanding assembly representing all four original members of The Who, highlighted by the exceptionally scarce Keith Moon signature and an especially desirable John Entwistle example signed using his rare “Johnny Allison” pseudonym, a short-lived alias he occasionally used in 1964 as a tribute to his future wife, Alison Wise. The Entwistle and Moon cut is further enhanced by its “High Numbers” notation and September 8, 1964 date, referencing the band's brief tenure under its original name before becoming The Who. Complete original-member assemblies are always in demand, and examples combining a rare Keith Moon signature with Entwistle's elusive “Johnny Allison” variation and a documented connection to the High Numbers era are seldom encountered.
