Arte Johnson's Personally Signed Peter Max "Art Expo N.Y. 1981" Limited Edition Print - This limited edition print by Peter Max was personally signed and given to iconic American comedian, Arte Johnson and his wife Gisela. Arte Johnson was best known for the hilarious characters he created in the 1960s for the highly successful NBC television series, Rowan & Martin's Laugh-In. Johnson cracked up audiences with his performances of Wolfgang, a former German storm trooper, and Tyrone F. Horneigh, a debauched old man who propositioned the spinster Gladys with suggestive mutterings. Johnson had a repertoire of more than 60 comic characters starring on Laugh-In for four seasons, eventually winning an Emmy Award in 1969. This limited edition print from the 1981 Art Expo NY is signed boldly in red "for Arte & Gisela Johnson Love MAX 81-" and is also signed "Peter Max 1/200 1981" in pencil in the top left corner. The print is framed in an acrylic frame measuring 25.75" x 32".
