Description
This iconic mid-century modern BKF Butterfly chair is attributed to Jorge Ferrari-Hardoy for Knoll. The Butterfly chair model consists of an open, criss-crossing, tubular wrought iron frame with a sling seat that slips over the frame. This chair's frame is painted white with a striped cotton canvas sling in light blue, red and white with piping edge. The chair can be used indoor or outdoor making it a perfect addition to any interior, porch, sunroom, terrace or patio.
The butterfly chair was designed by Argentine architects Juan Kurchan, Antonio Bonet, and Jorge Ferrari-Hardoy (but Ferrari-Hardoy is considered to be the primary designer), who were inspired by the British military folding chair known as "La Tripolina."
