American, Arts & Crafts era nesting smoker / ashtray set manufactured by the Heintz Art Metal Shop (HAMS) specifically as a retail commission for R.H. Macy & Co.. Base marked 557D / HAMS / Sterling on Bronze / PAT. AUG. 27, 12 / R.H. Macy & Co. Inc. (now Macy's). Four-piece nesting set includes one larger master base receptacle featuring an incised geometric Greek key style border decoration and three smaller individual nesting insert dishes.
