A late 19th Century French School still life in the style of Fantin-Latour. A well-executed Impressionist style oil on canvas depicting detailed objects of an opulent household: a ceramic basket weave bowl of apples, a lady's fan propping open a small book, next to a gold lournette on a pink beaded chain. In the background is a tall pewter candlestick, a tortoise shell tea caddy with small key, and large blue Delft baluster form vase, all on white linen tablecloth with openwork lace border. In good condition, relined at some point. In a gold tone period style frame. Unsigned. Circa 1860-1880.
