E. F. Caldwell Silvered Bronze Greco-Roman Bowls- Pair of 2

Description

E.F. Caldwell silvered-bronze Greco-Roman design bowls, likely taken from discovered historical silver works. Appears to be derived from the Arretine Cup circa 1st century BC. Beautifully cast bronze bodies with thick good silver plating over the inside and outside. The design features a continuous scene of Pegasus and on the other a banquet and celebration theme. Created by Caldwell as a limited series, the two companion bowls the finest in foundry work in the late 19th to early 20th century. The size is 7" in diameter by 3.75" tall. the mate measures 6.5" in diameter and 3.25" tall. Standing on three balls with medallion bottom. Excellent condition.
