An artist's study after Johannes Vermeer's 1665 painting 'Girl with a Pearl Earring'. This portrait depicts a woman poised in profile, gazing towards the viewer. It is signed by the artist 'Sam' in the lower left corner, from whom I purchased it directly. It is a beautifully executed interpretation of Vermeer's original masterpiece, a tronie painted during the Dutch Golden Age. The artwork is encased in a complementary frame that can hang on the wall or stand on a mantle or shelf.
