Eight (8) framed drypoint etchings of classical composers by Wilhelm Pech (1876-1965).
Composers depicted include:
Top row L to R: Carl Maria von Weber, Franz Schubert, Joseph Haydn, Ludwig von Beethoven
Bottom row L to R: Franz Liszt, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Johannes Brahms, Richard Wagner
They are in identical frames measuring 11.125" x 14.75" (the matte is 6.5" x 9.5"). All are titled and signed by the artist in pencil. Likely produced in the late 1930's and distributed by Catalda Fine Arts in New York City.
Pech was born in Germany and emigrated to the United States at the age of seventeen. He is best known for his portraits of composers and politicians.
These prints would look lovely in a music room, study, or salon, and would make an excellent addition to any classical music collection.
Condition:
Alterations: Original Condition Unaltered
Imperfections: Some Imperfections
Condition Notes: Framed prints are in very good vintage condition, with signs of wear consistent with age and use. Original mounting hardware is still present; four have a sawtooth hanger, four have an eyehook hanger. The frames are worn in spots, but glass in intact and all eight etchings appear to be in excellent condition.
