This is a stunning Original Pen and Ink Drawing on Paper by Listed California Artist, Hendrik Grise (1914-1982). Grise was a prolific artist who was part of many of the major art movements of the mid-20th Century. He studied at the Chicago Art Institute and the Dallas Museum School of Art before coming to Southern California in the late 1940s, where he consistently exhibited his work. He was friends with several artists from the New York School, including Mark Tobey who was close to Jackson Pollock. The influences of his time are clear in his bright, fluid works.

This piece is a stunning example of his work. Done in the early-1970s, this bawdy work is a testament to the time period. It is signed in the lower right and it has been framed in a black velvet acid-free mat, custom molding, and anti-glare museum glass. A ready to hang gem!

Provenance and Certification: We bought the bulk of Hendrick Grise's estate in 2015. The majority of the works in our collection have never been offered for sale. We have some of the BEST works by Grise that you will ever find. Each piece comes with a Certificate of Authenticity.
