This is a rare original 1984 artist's proof for "Susan," by the listed and well-known artist Shimon Okshteyn.

His work is in many museums, galleries and are in both public and private collections. Born in Chernivtsi, Ukraine, Shimon Okshteyn was a graduate of the Mitrofan Grekov Art College in Odessa, Ukraine. He has lived and worked in the USA since 1980.

Artwork shows a woman (possibly a man in drag) puffing on a smoking stick. She's wearing a red, shoulder-padded blazer with long black gloves. A glimpse of her lace bra peeks through from behind the blazer. A handful of cigarettes in an ashtray sit in front of her on a tabletop.

Penciled signed by the artist in the lower right, and numbered E.A. 15/30 in the lower left - E.A. stands for "epreuve d'artiste," meaning Artist's Proof in French.

It has a black, high-gloss frame - some wear (surface scuffs), but minimal and not noticeable. Has original gallery stickers on the back - Sloane Gallery of Art out of Denver, Colorado. Brown paper backing has some wear as well.

40.5" T x 31.5"W x 1.25"D.
I'm fairly sure this is a hand-pulled stone lithograph, if not then it's a serigraph.

Excellent condition. The artwork is perfect. The frame has minor wear.

I picked this piece up at a collector's estate auction here in Minneapolis. They had several other pieces from Shimon in their collection, as well as original work from Lawrence "Larry" Volk, who is considered the Joan Miro of his day.

Overall, it's a cool statement piece.
