8 and 12 in tall This pair of matching American ceramic pitchers consists of one large water pitcher and one smaller creamer-style pitcher, manufactured by the Wheeling Pottery Company of Wheeling, West Virginia. Both vessels are crafted from white semi-porcelain with an octagonal faceted body, featuring flared, scalloped rims and distinctive angular, geometric handles. The pieces are decorated in a flow blue transfer pattern depicting large, expressive iris flowers and smaller floral sprigs. The transfer technique produces the characteristic soft, diffused blue edges against the white glaze. The underside of the larger pitcher bears a brown printed mark featuring a stylized crest above the words LA BELLE and CHINA, along with a hand-painted blue numeral 4. The smaller pitcher displays the same printed manufacturer mark on its base.
