Description
7 in tall no chips or cracks This is a machine-pressed green uranium glass biscuit jar with a matching lid, produced in the Princess pattern by the Hocking Glass Company between 1931 and 1934. The glass contains a small amount of uranium, which causes it to fluoresce a vibrant neon green when exposed to ultraviolet light. The jar features an octagonal form with sides decorated in scrolled floral relief panels. The coordinating lid is designed with a radiating leaf-like pattern and is topped with a faceted knob finial. The base is smooth and lacks a pontil mark, indicating its origin as machine-molded Depression-era glassware.
